A uniformed figure came out of a lean-to shed at the gates as the car drew up with a grind of brakes.
" What ship, sir ?" he asked.
" The Halcyon," said Lazard, stooping slightly to button his coat. He was all muffled up to the chin, with a great black, silk scarf hiding half his
