and people and swimming pools and such a lot of dining rooms and a gymnasium and a turkish bath and model apartments and smoking rooms and a moving picture place and electric ice boxes and kitchens as big as a park and elevators and ice water coming out of faucets in the wall and bathrooms all in colors instead of white and switchboards and they were all mixed up in my mind and oh there were such a lot of roofs. It seemed to me I saw dozens and dozens of roofs. One roof was a tennis court and one was a dining room and one was a garden and one was a children's playground with swings and sand and all sorts of things to play with and some roofs were nothing they were private and belonged to the apartments and the people were going to fix them up and plant vegetables so fat men could get exercise weeding them out somebody said and everybody laughed and one roof was a handball court and one roof was all covered with awnings and filled with flowers and was a dancing place and it seemed to me the whole building was just all roofs and nearly every floor had one.
