Mothers Cry

he would be all on fire again and then he made me feel like I was on fire a little too. And so I got just as excited as he did about the competition.
At last his plans were finished but Artie didn't show them to me he said he'd show me the building when it was finished so I laughed at him. All day I waited for Artie to come home that day when he showed his plans to the bosses but when he came home he was all tired and disappointed because he said they didn't look at them yet. And the next day it was the same and when it was the same the next day too he came home all cranky and worried and he didn't know what to do with himself.
I guess he, was awfully run down anyway he caught a terrible cold and his nose was all stuffed up and he was coughing and he had a terrible fever. I didn't want him to go to work but he said yes he had to because today was the last day for submitting plans to the competition. So he went anyway and oh he was so sick and about eleven o'clock in the morning just when I was going out to do the shopping I saw Artie running on the street to me and he grabbed ahold of me and said oh mother they're submitting my plans! and I'm going to get the partnership and I'm going to marry Alice and I'm the happiest man in all the world. How's your cold Artie I said how's your cold and then he just looked at me and fainted.
A man helped me carry him in and I sent for a doctor and Artie had the grippe very very badly. So I put him to bed and I gave him hot raspberry tea to make him sweat and I made him take a physic and I covered him up with piles of blankets and after he was all sweated out I washed him down with alcohol and he went to sleep and when he woke up he didn't have hardly any fever at all.
