rose georgette and the lamps were made of china they were French ladies I think and the lace on their dresses looked just like china but it wasn't it was netting dipped in something to make it stiff and look like that.
Eddie spent lots and lots of money. He said nothing was too good for jenny and he was so pleased she was going to have a baby. He even had a man come to put up the right kind of curtains in the windows and he made Jenny take a colored girl to help her in the mornings though Jenny said there was hardly anything for her to do because it was so easy to keep the apartment clean and Jenny sent out all her laundry not like I did sometimes just wet wash but everything all finished and ironed.
I had a lovely time helping Jenny and after the baby came I was so happy. They called her Lily after Mr. Cooper's mother but they called the second girl Mary after me. Jenny used to let me mind the baby for her and it was so sweet to do for a baby again and it was such a pretty baby all blonde and blue eyes and she could say grandma real plain when she was thirteen months old and Jenny was so happy and contented and so was Eddie and oh I was so happy too.
So now I was living all alone with Artie and Artie was getting along fine too. He liked his work and they liked him down at the office too only they kept saying to him before he could try some of his ideas he must get lots more practical experience and once Artie showed me a picture of how he would fix up down town so there would be three or four sidewalks on top of each'other and three or four streets where the automobiles could go. He said the boss liked his plans and he thought after about ten years he might be able to really do something and Artie said they were a bunch of old fogies even
