There was a green table in the middle of the store and there was a green glass light hanging over the middle sort of low and there were little square things hanging down from the ceiling and every once in a while the men rubbed their sticks with them and made the end of the stick green. When they started a game they had a thing with three sides and they put all the balls in it on the table and then they took it off and they tried to break up the balls. There was a blackboard on the wall and they marked things on it. Some of them were just boys like Danny and some were a little older and some were a lot older with kind of round bellies and red faces. Everybody was smoking and you could see how thick the air
