Mothers Cry

my silver hair brush and comb that I got for Christmas and on the other side I put Frank's that I got for him to match mine.
The dining room was nice too only we didn't have enough money to buy a carpet right away and Frank said we would get it afterwards. But we had a nice square table with five chairs and an armchair in golden oak and a big sideboard and a china closet. And we bought a black leather couch so Frank could lie down after supper at night and rest while I cleared up. Mama gave me all her Satin Gloss wrappers and she had three hundred saved up and we got some cut glass for them and we got rubber stands for the cut glass and put them on the sideboard and it looked wonderful and I put our dishes in the china closet the tea set and all and that looked wonderful too. Only the floor looked so bad and so I said couldn't we save on something and just buy oilcloth for the floor and mama said yes that was a good idea so we did. It was a nice pattern all brown with big flowers and it looked just as nice as carpet and it was easier to keep clean and I was sure we'd be able to get a new carpet next year sure.
I wanted to have a nice kitchen and afterwards I was glad I made it so nice because it got sort of silly eating in the dining room and seemed so much extra work and Frank and I began to eat in the kitchen because it was much cosier and in the winter it was so nice and warm in the kitchen. I got fancy paper for the shelves and nice oil cloth for the floor and I polished the stove so you could just eat from it it was so clean and I made curtains for the windows and I covered the wash tubs with white oil cloth and got white oil cloth for the kitchen table.
And there was such a lot to attend to I thought I would never get finished. I had to get a lineman to put up a line for
