Her Majesty's confirmation of this idea put an entirely new complexion on the whole affair and he had to re-think the case from the very beginning. Thus it happened that in the end he was led to a certain conclusion. But there was only one way of proving it-he must go to Bulkrania ! He did not know what he would find when he got there ; but he was well aware now that the only way to bring things to a head was to go to Sokia and see the man he had decided was at the root of all their troubles. But the great thing was secrecy-if the slightest suspicion of this new information were to leak out, it would not only ruin all their hopes, but would, in all probability, bring down more tragedy on their heads. So it happened that the Queen and Royston decided to keep their ideas to themselves-important though they were. ... Though it seemed too wonderfully good to be true ...!
